Each year the Woods Hole Film Festival brings us life changing stories in the form of narrative, documentary, feature, short and animation film. Festival founder and director Judy Laster leads an incredibly dedicated group of people who bring us films, educational programs, social opportunities and music at the 2017 Woods Hole Film Festival.

To celebrate the week of fascinating films, parties with free live music at the 2017 WHFF are held each night during the week-long festival, at 10:30 p.m.. There will be a totally different scene nightly with an array of artists and different local restaurants hosting. Most of the parties are held in the village of Woods Hole, except for the ones at Grumpy’s Pub in Falmouth. The final three events should be on your Woods Hole Film Festival must-do. They are scheduled as follows:

Thursday, August 3rd – WOOD SOUL – A local acoustic duo brings their Cape Cod/Key West-style music at the 2017 Woods Hole Film Festival with original songwriting by Craigo, Adrienne, and McKenna, will be playing at 10:30 p.m. at The 41-70 in Woods Hole.

Friday, August 4th – BITTERSWEET – This Cape Cod based band features Funk, Soul and Classic R&B music. Significant influence comes from the Philadelphia born Drummer, Greg PoPPa’G Baker’s, past as a member of a backup band for Village People during the height of their popularity in the 70’s and 80’s. Bittersweet performs live at Grumpy’s Pub in Falmouth at 10:30 p.m.

Saturday, August 5th – THE NOVEL IDEAS – The final event of the 2017 Woods Hole Film Festival will include the announcement of the 2017 Festival awards with music by The Novel Ideas. The country folk quintet of the great city of Boston features a blend of pastoral, harmony driven, and plaintive Americana. Don’t miss the last hurrah of the amazing week on Saturday at 10:30 p.m. At the Captain Kidd, a restaurant in Woods Hole!
